To help the consumers and law enforcement agencies in the cases of mobile phone theft / snatch PTA, after consultations with all stakeholders/mobile operators, formulated a comprehensive SOP to block snatched/stolen Cell Phones through IMEI numbers. All mobile companies installed Electronic Identification Register (EIR) facility in their switches for blocking the mobile phones all over the country. IMEI blocking system was successfully launched on 30th September 2006.

So on reports of the user , 30% of total complains were registered from City Bahawalpur , while 15% in District Lodhran 10% eatch in District Rahimyar khan District Bahawalnagar , 20% complained registered by Government Servant whom employ Hospital, Cantt aria , Security servants, Education departments Students , The average blocking of cell phone par day at this Office 25/30 , Average of month 750/830.

Verification through SMS
The department of Punjab Excise & Taxation Department has started a mobile based SMS Service which is related to the reports of vehicle owned by public. This service will enable the owners of vehicles to get the information related to their own vehicle by sending an SMS including the registration number of vehicle to 9966, for example (abc-00-123 , abc 123).
Crime Verification through SMS
For verification by SMS in Islamabad follow the following steps :
National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has signed contract with cell phone companies, for verification of the computerized national identity cards (CNICs) through SMS. NADRA has initiated the facility under which people can attain the verification of CNIC through SMS. Subscribers will have the facility to verify the CNIC by sending SMS at 7000. (Compose write box ID card No as 1234567891112 send on 7000) Anyone who sends his or her computerized national identity card (CNIC) number on 8300, will get voting details such as electoral area name, block code, Tehsil/District name and serial number along with his/her CNIC number within a few seconds. The facility will be formally launched here at the Election Commission Secretariat.

Criminal Identification and Sketching System (CISS) .
Through latest Computer Identity Kit enables us to develop sketches of criminals so as to easily identify them. This information is of valuable assistance in tracking the wanted persons, or in checking from past Police records. This also enables identifying the groups involved in related crimes of other districts. The know-how to develop this technology was passed on to the CPLC by the FBI; after which the CPLC designed and developed the software for making computerized sketches of criminals. SCENES OF CRIME OFFICER (SOCO) LABORATORY VAN
A Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) is an officer who gathers forensic evidence for the Bahawalpur police. They are also referred to by some forces as Forensic Scene Investigators (FSIs), Crime Scene Investigators (CSIs) or Crime Scene Examiners (CSEs). Evidence collected is passed to the detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department and to the forensic laboratories.

The new unit possesses state of the art kits that cover a multitude of functions, including blood collection, finger printing, impressions, lifting pattern prints, trace evidence collection and analyzing bullet trajectories. In addition, the unit will be utilized to respond to crimes committed in the vicinity of every police station in Bahawalpur District. The unit will professionally enable the CSI teams in photography, evidence collection, fingerprint processing, Criminal Sketching, and evidence analysis at the district level thereby enhancing expert testimony in criminal court proceedings. |
